Girls Basketball Roundup: Regina Gets Back on Track With Win Over North Cedar

After having a five-game winning streak halted with a road loss at Cedar Rapids Xavier on Saturday Regina didn’t have to wait long to try to start up a new streak.
Regina bounced back with a 55-29 win over North Cedar on Monday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional makeup game in Iowa City.
Regina improved to 13-5 on the season and 12-4 in RVC play while North Cedar dropped to 1-17 on the season and 0-17 in RVC play.
The Regals jumped to a 14-4 lead after the opening quarter and built a 25-12 halftime edge.
Annie Gahan led three Regina players in double figures with a game-high 14 points to go with six rebounds and six steals.
Sam Greving had 13 points and seven rebounds and Hope Simpson had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Senior Claire Gaarde had six points, six rebounds and four steals and freshman Claire Gaarde had five points and five assists for the Regals.
Jenna Syring paced North Cedar with 13 points.
