City High stretched its winning streak to eight with a 2-0 win over Cedar Falls in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup in Iowa City.

Sam Schroder scored a goal and had an assist on a goal my Madelynn Fontana as City High improved to 8-2 on the season and 7-1 in MVC play.

Schroder scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season off a Morgan Turner assist and fed Fontana for a goal to for her team-high fourth assist.

Naomi Meurice had a pair of saves while posting her fourth shutout in goal this season.  City High has allowed just four goals during its eight-match winning streak and hasn’t allowed more than one goal in a match during the stretch.

BOYS

West Branch Blanks CVC

Peyton Miller and Matt Whaley each scored goals as West Branch downed Cedar Valley Christian 2-0 on Monday in Alburnett.

The win was the second straight for West Branch and improved the Bears to 4-3 on the season. Cedar Valley Christian dropped to 0-10 with the loss.

Gage Gingerich had an assist and Cael Fiderlein had four saves in goal for the Bears.
