Boys Basketball Roundup: Cornwell Sets Career Scoring Mark in Win Over West Liberty

Beau Cornwell became the all-time leading scorer in West Branch history in a 61-39 win over West Liberty on Saturday morning at Hoover Gymnasium in West Branch.
Cornwell scored 22 points on Saturday to push his career total to 1,638 breaking the previous mark held by Rylan Murry.
The senior guard also grabbed seven rebounds and had four steals as West Branch improved to 14-3 on the season and 14-2 in RVC South Division play with its fourth consecutive win.
Ted Bridges added 11 points and nine rebounds while Trey Eagle had eight points and Zach Thompson added seven.
Freshman Thomas Gould had a team-high six assists for the Bears.

City High Snaps Skid
City High snapped a five-game losing skid with a 70-58 win over Knoxville on Saturday in a non-conference contest in Iowa City.
Keshawn Christian scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as City High improved to 4-12 on the season.
City High used a 24-point second quarter to build a 39-15 halftime lead it would never give up.
Ry Threlkeld-Wiegand had 14 points and eight rebounds and Antonio Turner added 11 points for the Little Hawks.
Darren Richardson had 10 points and eight rebounds while Byron Benton scored eight points and Jason Allen grabbed nine rebounds and had three steals.
Knoxville dropped to 8-8 with the loss.

Clippers Drops Second Straight
Clear Creek Amana dropped its second game in as many days falling to Center Point-Urbana 55-44 in a WAMAC West Division matchup on Saturday in Center Point.
The Clippers fell to 9-6 with the loss while Center Point Urbana improved to 11-6 with its fourth consecutive win.
Brock Reade led Clear Creek Amana with 13 points while Christian Withrow added nine points and TJ Bollers had eight points and eight rebounds.
