West High opened the postseason with a 5-0 win over Burlington in the Class 2A, Region 3 quarterfinals on Saturday morning in Iowa City.

The Women of Troy dropped three sets while winning five singles matches to end the competition before doubles.

With the win, West High improved to 16-1 on the season and advanced to the Region 3 semifinals where it will face Dubuque Hempstead on May 20 at 9 a.m. at West High.

West High defeated Dubuque Hempstead 6-3 during the regular season playing without number one singles player Emma Koch.

The winner of Saturday’s semifinal will face the winner of City High and Muscatine in the Regional final at 1 p.m.
