Andy Henson
West Branch graduate and current University of Sioux Falls senior linebacker Andy Henson had a big game for the Cougars in a 37-20 loss to Augustana on Saturday in Sioux Falls.
Henson had six tackles, including four solo stops, a sack and forced a fumble in the loss to the Vikings on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Henson ranks third on the team with 31 tackles this season and has 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries to help Sioux Falls to a 3-3 record.
TaeShon McDaniels
Former City High standout and current Pittsburg State senior defensive lineman TaeShon McDaniels had a strong performance to help the Gorillas to a 34-27 overtime win at Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.
McDaniels had five total tackles including half a tackle for loss as Pittsburg State snapped a four-game losing streak to open the season.
In five games this season McDaniels has made 17 tackles including three tackles for loss and added a pass breakup.
Bliss Beck
Former Clear Creek Amana standout and current Drake junior middle blocker Bliss Beck had a strong showing in a pair of matches for the Bulldogs over the weekend.
Beck totaled 14 kills and four blocks as Drake split a pair of Missouri Valley matches with Illinois State and Bradley on Friday and Saturday.
The 6-foot-2 Beck had four kills and a block in a five-set win at Illinois State on Friday.
On Saturday Beck came within one kill of her season-high high, posting 10 kills and adding three blocks in a five-set loss at Bradley.
For the season Beck ranks fourth on the team with 96 kills and ranks second on the team with 42 blocks while helping the Bulldogs to a 7-9 record.
