Defending state runner-up Regina is the top ranked team in the first Class 1A Iowa High School Athletic Association football rankings released on Monday afternoon.

The rankings for Class 2A, 1A, A and eight-player are determined throughout the 2025 regular season by official rankings committees for each class.

Regina (5-0) has outscored opponents 230-31 during its unbeaten start to the season.

The Regals are followed in the 1A rankings by defending state champion West Lyon (4-1), South Hardin (5-0), Aplington-Parkersburg (5-0) and Treynor (4-1).

Other top-ranked teams in the first rankings of the season are Carroll Kuemper (5-0) in Class 2A, Woodbury Central (5-0) in Class A and Audubon (5-0) in 8-player.
