The YPS Top 50 is an eight-story series that highlights 50 of the top returning football players in the Your Prep Sports area by position group.

The first three editions in the series have featured the top returning quarterbacks, running backs and pass catchers in the area.

Today the series moves to the big guys up front as Your Prep Sports takes a look at XX of the best returning offensive linemen in the area.

In the coming days four more position groups – defensive line, linebackers, defensive backs and special teams – will all be featured.

Here is a look at some of the best returning offensive linemen in the area.

James Barnett

Junior, West High

Already a two-year varsity starter Barnett has quickly established himself as one of the top offensive linemen in the state and overall top recruits in the Class of 2028.

An Iowa commit, Barnett is a three-star recruit by 247Sports and ranked as the sixth overall prospect in Iowa for the 2028 class.

The 6-foot-2, 275 Barnett was impressive last season as a sophomore playing a key role in helping the West High offensive line emerge as one of the best in the state.

From his center spot Barnett helped West High average 192 rushing yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry as the Trojans went 8-3 and advanced to the 5A quarterfinals.

Barnett displayed excellent technique last season and plays with impressive physicality and speed.

Look for another huge season from Barnett as West High looks to build on its success from last season.

Preston Mensah

Senior, City High

A three-year starter on the City High offensive line Mensah is poised for a big senior season as the Little Hawks look to improve on their 2-7 record from last season.

Over the past two seasons Mensah has emerged as a major force at his right tackle spot on the Little Hawks offensive line.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Mensah is physical at the point of attack and has the athleticism and footwork to go with the physicality.

A University of Sioux Falls recruit, Mensah helped City High average 23.9 points and 349 total yards per game last season including 149 rushing yards per game.

Lucas Feuerbach

Senior, Solon

Among the best two-way lineman in the state Feuerbach is an absolute dominator on both sides of the ball.

A South Dakota commit, Feuerbach was a first-team Class 3A all-state selection as a defensive lineman last season after ranking third on the team in tackles while helping Solon to an 11-1 record and a spot in the 3A semifinals.

Feuerbach has been nearly unblockable the past two seasons as a defensive tackle, racking up 81.5 tackles with 17 tackles for loss and five sacks.

Despite that domination defensively Feuerbach may be even more valuable for Solon this season on the offensive line.

Solon has significant depth returning on the defensive line but the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Feuerbach will be the unquestioned leader of the Solon offensive line this season as Solon looks to improve on the 114 rushing yards per game and 4.4 yards per carry it averaged last season.

Porter Shetler

Senior, Regina

A huge part of Regina’s run to the Class 1A title game last season was the play of the offensive line and Shetler was at the center of that dominant group up front.

Shetler was a first team 1A all-state selection as an offensive lineman last season after helping the Regals to a 12-1 record and a state runner-up finish.

The 6-foot, 235-pound Shetler was a part of a Regina offensive line that helped the Regals average 45.7 points and 381 total yards per game while averaging 185 rushing yards per contest and 7.2 yards per carry.

One of several talented two-way linemen on the Regina roster, Shetler also made 16 tackles including five for loss with two sacks as a part of a deep Regal defensive line rotation.

Nathan Parizek

Junior, Regina

In a group of talented upperclassmen in the Regina line groups Parizek stood out last season as a sophomore on both sides of the ball.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Parizek emerged as a force on both lines last season while helping Regina to a 12-1 record and a spot in the Class 1A championship game.

Parizek was disruptive defensively last season with 3.5 of his 13 tackles going for loss including a pair of sacks but was at his best on the offensive line.

A long yet powerful athlete, Parizek earned first team all-district honors last season on the offensive line after helping Regina average 185 rushing yards and 7.2 yards per carry while putting up 45.7 points and 381 total yards per game.

Keep an eye on Parizek this season as he has all the tools to turn into one of the top linemen in Class 1A.

Lucas Goodrich

Junior, City High

A fast-rising prospect, Goodrich used an impressive sophomore season to establish himself as one of the top young linemen in the state.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Goodrich already holds scholarship offers from South Dakota, Miami (Ohio), Florida Atlantic and Iowa State.

Goodrich was an anchor at left tackle on the City High offensive line last season helping the Little Hawks average 23.9 points and 349 total yards per game including 149 rushing yards per contest.

Goodrich moves extremely well for his size and showed a good burst off the line of scrimmage.

With a year of experience under his belt look for Goodrich to continue to emerge as one of the best offensive linemen in the state this fall.

Jordi Zioka

Senior, West High

The offensive line emerged as a major strength for West High last season helping the Trojans record their highest win total since 2018.

Zioka was a big part of that success up front last season and is one of four returning starters on a West High offensive line that once again figures to be a center piece for the Trojans this fall.

The 6-foot-1, 305-pound Zioka was a first team all-district selection last season after helping West High to an 8-3 record and a spot in the 5A quarterfinals.

Zioka helped pave the way for a West High offense that ranked among the most productive in 5A, averaging 39.4 points and 405 total yards.

A good athlete who moves well at his size Zioka has good balance and the ability to dominate at the point of attack.

Bradyn Schnoor

Senior, Solon

Schnoor returns along with Feuerbach to anchor a Solon offense line that helped the Spartans to an 11-1 record and a spot in the Class 3A semifinals last season.

A second team Class 3A all-state selection last season, Schnoor helped pave the way for Solon to average 38.1 points and 310 total yards per game including 114 rushing yards per game.

The 6-foot, 250-pound Schnoor also made 11.5 tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack on defense last season.

Ben Mohr

Senior, Liberty High

As the season went on last fall an undersized offensive line emerged as a strong point for Liberty High as the Lightning advanced all the way to the Class 5A state title game.

For the offensive front to once again be a strength for Liberty High this season the Lightning will rely on the play and leadership of Mohr.

A starter at left tackle last season, Mohr is the lone returning starter from a Liberty High offensive line that helped the Lightning average 35 points and 388 total yards per game during its 11-2 runner-up season.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Mohr understands the precision-based Liberty High offense making him a perfect piece to build around up front this fall after he helped the Lightning average 176 rushing yards per game and 5.4 yards per carry last season.

Teagan Heisdorffer

Senior, Clear Creek Amana

It’s no secret under veteran head coach Lance Pedersen that when Clear Creek Amana is clicking offensively the Clippers are running the ball effectively.

That’s exactly where Heisdorffer comes into the equation.

The 6-foot, 240-pound two-way standout is a veteran Prescence on Clear Creek Amana offensive line that will look to lead the way for Clippers to improve on a 4-5 record from last season.

Heisdorffer was a two-way standout last season, ranking ninth on the team in tackles from his defensive tackle spot while also helping the Clippers average 173 rushing yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry from his interior spot on the offensive line.

A physical player at the point of attack on both sides, Heisdorffer had 20.5 tackles with three for loss and two sacks last season on defense.

On offense he helped Clear Creek Amana average 32.7 points and 308 total yards per game and will be a key piece of the Clipper offensive front this fall.

Shay Kinsinger

Senior, West Branch  

West Branch has a long history of strong offensive line play and Kinsinger will be a key piece of the Bears continuing that tradition this fall.

Kinsinger is the lone returning starter from an offensive line that paved the way for West Branch to average 210 rushing yards per game and 6.6 yards per carry during a 7-3 season that ended in the Class 2A second round.

The 6-foot, 210-pound Kinsinger has the physical ability to be the next in a long line of excellent West Branch offensive linemen but on a young yet talented West Branch roster the leadership from Kinsinger will be just as important.

A two-way player a year ago, Kinsinger will be relied on defensively as well after making 14 tackles including two for loss last season.
