Lower and McLaughlin Headline Area IGCA All-State Girls Basketball Selections

Regina sophomore Addie McLaughlin and Clear Creek Amana senior Averie Lower each earned first-team all-state honors for the second time this week on Thursday.
McLaughlin and Lower were each first-team all-state picks by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association when the organization released its postseason honors on Thursday.
Earlier this week Lower and McLaughlin were both first-team all-state selections by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.
Lower was named to the IGCA Class 4A first team after averaging 24 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.3 steals, 2.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
An Arizona State recruit, Lower shot 54 percent from the field including 43 percent from beyond the 3-point line while leading Clear Creek Amana to a 20-3 record and a spot in the 4A state quarterfinals.
McLaughlin was a first-team selection in Class 2A after leading Regina to a 19-6 record and a second consecutive trip to the 2A state tournament.
The 5-foot-5 McLaughlin ranked fourth in 2A in scoring with 22.1 points per game and led 2A with 6.2 assists per game.
McLaughlin also averaged 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 steals per game while shooting 47 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the free throw line.
Liberty High senior Natalie Ramsey was named to the Class 5A first-team following a stellar season in which she averaged a double-double with 21.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
A South Dakota recruit, Ramsey shot 46 percent from the floor, including 34 percent from 3-point range, and 84 percent from the free throw line.
Ramsey also averaged 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and .5 blocked shots per game while helping Liberty High to a 15-8 record and a spot in a 5A regional title game.
West High senior Grace Fincham was named to the 5A second team after leading the Trojans in scoring and rebounding while directing West High to a 17-8 record and a 5A state tournament appearance.
A Drake recruit, Fincham averaged 19.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
City High senior point guard Tessa Driscoll was named to the 5A third team after helping the Little Hawks to a 17-7 record and a spot in a 5A regional title game.
A St. Thomas recruit, Driscoll averaged a team-high 12.7 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.
Clear Creek Amana senior guard Lena Evans joined Lower as a 4A all-stater, landing on the 4A second team.
Evans averaged 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists per game while helping the Clippers to a third state tournament appearance in the past four seasons.
Solon had a pair of all-state picks as freshman Tenley Levin was a first-team pick in 4A and senior Delainey Durr was a third-team selection.
Levin led Solon in scoring (18.5) and rebounding (8.6) and Durr averaged 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds 3.1 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
