Liberty High’s Washpun, City High’s Watkins Unanimous MVC All-Division Selections

Jerimiah Washpun and Christopher Watkins each posted individual seasons that ranked among the best in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
Washpun and Watkins were each honored for their impressive seasons on Wednesday when the MVC released its postseason honors.
Watkins and Washpun were each unanimous first-team all-division selections to highlight 12 area players to earn all-division honors.
Washpun led Liberty High in scoring and ranked second among all MVC players with 22.2 points per game.
The 5-foot-11 junior shot 50 percent from the field, including 45 percent from 3-point range, while averaging 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Washpun was one of four Liberty High players to earn all-Mississippi Division honors.
Sophomore Chase Goodheart was named to the Mississippi Division second team after averaging 15.2 points and 2.3 assists per game.
Seniors Jake Stapleton and Peyton Brooks each earned honorable mention honors in the Mississippi Division for Liberty High.
Watkins was a unanimous first-team pick in the Valley Division after the 6-foot-6 senior was one of two players in the MVC to average a double-double.
Watkins led City High with 16.1 points per game while shooting 54 percent from the floor and his 10.2 rebounds per game ranked second in the MVC.
Watkins also averaged 1.6 assists, 1 steal and 1.9 blocked shots per game.
City High senior Iyon Harris was a second-team Valley Division pick after averaging 9.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Senior Jack Lampe and sophomore Davion Hopkins each earned honorable mention honors in the Valley Division for City High.
West High seniors Greg Ford and Ethan Headings were each second-team picks in the Mississippi Division.
Headings led West High with 13.5 points per game and averaged 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals.
Ford averaged 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game for West High.
West High seniors Jack Jensen-Fitzpatrick and Henry Elser were each Valley Division honorable mention selections.
