No. 10 City High fell to ninth-ranked West Des Moines Valley 51-37 in the Class 5A, Region 7 title game on Tuesday in West Des Moines.

West Des Moines Valley improved to 13-10 with the win and advanced to the 5A state tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

The Tigers will face West Des Moines Dowling (20-3) in a 5A quarterfinal on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines.

City High closed the season 17-7.

Tylee Weite had a game-high 25 points to lead West Des Moines Valley while Avery Moon had 10 points for the Tigers.

Baileigh Uthoff had six points and Tenleigh Uthoff had four points for West Des Moines Valley.

Kaitlin Loria had 12 points for City High and Tessa Driscoll had 11 points for the Little Hawks.

Halle Larew added four points for City High.
