West High picked up a dominant 48-35 won over Cedar Rapids Kennedy on Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual in Iowa City.

The Trojans won six of the nine contested matches on Thursday, all by fall, on its way to the senior night victory.

After a forfeit at 100 pounds gave West High an early lead Lila Bihun opened the night with a pin of Rozlin Fries in 25 seconds at 105 pounds.

Brianna Lucero pinned Haylie Ayala in 1:59 at 115 pounds to give West High a 18-6 lead and the Trojans got consecutive pins from Kaylee Hampton at 125, Noah Overholt at 130 and Michaela Vogel at 135 pounds to build a 36-11 advantage.

Hampton pinned Paisley Levendusky in 5:20 at 135 pounds and Overholt needed 2:45 to pin Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Addison Bodeker at 2:45.

Vogel pinned Savannah Talyat in 3:26 at 135 pounds.

Senior Sylvia Broffitt capped the pins for West High with a fall in 1:24 over Kalina Mayer at 145 pounds.

Minna Abdalla and Aya Adam each earned victories via forfeit for West High.
