Class 5A No. 8 City High escaped a scare from Linn-Mar on Friday posting a 48-47 overtime win over the Lions in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional contest in Iowa City on Tuesday.

City High improved to 12-3 with the win while Linn-Mar dropped to 2-12 with its third consecutive loss.

Hattie Gallway led City High with 13 points while Maybes Miller added 11 for the Little Hawks.

Kaitlin Loria had eight points and Tessa Driscoll had seven for City High.

Emerson McCormick had a game-high 15 points for Linn-Mar while Leah Mulnik had nine points and Ava Buchholz had six for the Lions.
