Class 5A ninth-ranked West High opened 2026 with a top-10 win.
Abby Neumiller had six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points to lead West High to a 53-45 win over 5A seventh-ranked Cedar Rapids Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional contest on Saturday morning in Iowa City.
Neumiller accounted for six of the 11 3-pointers for West High on Saturday as the Trojans improved to 7-3 on the season.
Cedar Rapids Washington had a four-game winning streak snapped with the loss and dropped to 4-3 on the season.
Grace Fincham had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and added five assists for West High while Ava Frese had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Kate Van Waning had nine points three rebounds and three assists for West High.
Lily Belle Barker had 12 points to lead Cedar Rapids Washington and Jayla Strong had nine points and Samantha Becker had eight for the Warriors.
Sira Doumbia had six points and eight rebounds for Cedar Rapids Washington.
