Solon Clinches District Title With Shutout Of Mount Pleasant

Solon secured the Class 3A, District 4 title with a 35-0 win over Mount Pleasant on Friday at Bob Evans Field at the Maple Leaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.
Eli Kampman passed for 260 yards and three touchdowns and Maddox Kelley scored three touchdowns as Solon improved to 8-0 on the season and moved to 4-0 in District 4 play.
Mount Pleasant dropped to 6-2 and 3-1 in district games.
Kampman completed 15-of-25 passes for 260 yards and threw touchdown passes to three different players as Solon rolled up 400 yards of total offense.
Kelley had 119 receiving yards and a touchdown catch and rushed for 21 yards and two touchdowns while Cody Milliman and Kade Hoeper each had touchdown receptions for the Spartans.
Kelley gave Solon an early 7-0 lead with a 7-yard touchdown run with 3:26 remaining in the first quarter.
Kampman found Milliman for a 29-yard touchdown pass with 8:02 remaining in the second quarter and Solon took a 21-0 halftime lead when Kelley scored on a 4-yard run with 43 seconds left in the first half.
Hoeper caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Kampman in the third quarter and Kelley capped the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown grab from Kampman with 9:20 remaining.
Hunter Sonntag rushed for 56 yards and Luis Buck added 41 yards on the ground for Solon.
The shutout was the third in the last four games for Solon as the Spartans have allowed just
