Girls Basketball Roundup: Cedar Rapids Xavier Downs Liberty High in Top-10 Showdown

With the postseason fast approaching few teams are playing better than Cedar Rapids Xavier.
The Class 4A eighth-ranked Saints pushed their winning streak to eight with a 65-55 win over Class 5A No. 10 Liberty High on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division contest in North Liberty.
Cedar Rapids Xavier improved to 16-4 with the win while Liberty High had a two-game winning streak halted and dropped to 15-5 with the loss.
Natalie Ramsey led Liberty High with 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Madeline Casey added nine points and four rebounds while Janessa Mosley had eight points and four rebounds.
Sydney Van Heukelom had six points and two rebounds for the Lightning and Ava Casey added three points and three assists.
Libby Fandel had 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to lead Cedar Rapids Xavier and Madden Wilson added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Saints.
Jaselle Lang had 13 points for Cedar Rapids Xavier.
