Girls Basketball Roundup: Solon Falls to 3A Top-ranked Mount Vernon

Solon had a two-game winning streak end on Tuesday with a 62-30 loss to Class 3A top-ranked Mount Vernon in a WAMAC East Division contest in Mount Vernon.
The win was the fifth in a row for Mount Vernon and improved the Mustangs to 6-1 on the season while Solon dropped to 3-3.
Laney Johnson led Solon with 12 points and Jerzey Haluksa, Beckett Kruse, Kalynn Timmons, Delainey Durr and Laeni Hinkle all had three points for the Spartans.
Chloe Meester had a game-high 18 points to lead Mount Vernon while Taylor Franck had 14 points and Savanna Wright had 13 points.
