Solon and City High each moved up in the latest baseball rankings released on Monday by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

City High climbed two spots to third in Class 4A while Solon moved up one spot to ninth in Class 3A.

Solon (19-9) defeated fifth-ranked Sioux City Heelan on Saturday and moved up one spot to ninth in the rankings released on Monday.

The Spartans join second-ranked Marion and eighth-ranked Grinnell as WAMAC teams in the Class 3A top 10.

City High (27-4) moved up two spots to third in the 4A rankings trailing only top-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy and second-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes.

The Little Hawks have won 14 in a row since being swept by Cedar Rapids Kennedy on June 3.

Liberty High (20-10) is eighth in the Class 4A rankings, down one spot from last week.

Top-ranked teams this week are Cedar Rapids Kennedy (28-2) in Class 4A, North Polk (17-4) in Class 3A, West Marshall (27-1) in Class 2A and Akron-Westfield  (17-2) in Class 1A.
