West High Senior Woods Commits to Iowa

One of the best players in the state will play his college football close to home.
West High senior two-way standout Mason Woods announced his commitment to Iowa on Wednesday with a post on social media.
“Staying home!” Woods wrote on his post on X.
Woods, the son of Iowa special teams coordinator LeVar Woods chose the Hawkeyes over offers from Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State among others.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Woods is a playmaker on both sides of the ball for West High.
Woods caught a team-high 35 passes for 535 yards and three touchdowns last season as a wide receiver for the Trojans.
He had 17.5 tackles, including three for loss and a sack to go with two interceptions from his defensive back spot as a junior.
A three-year starter for the Trojans, Woods has caught 54 passes for 927 yards and five touchdowns and has 38.5 tackles and five interceptions in his career.
