Boys Golf Roundup: Solon Junior Zoske Second After Opening Day at State Golf Meet

Solon junior Isaiah Zoske in in second place after the opening round of the two-day, 36-hole Class 3A State Golf meet.
Zoske fired an opening round four-under-par 68 on Monday at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames and is two strokes back of leader Easton Korell of ADM.
In his opening-round 68 Zoske had five birdies and three bogies and closed his round with an eagle on the par-five ninth hole.
Korell had seven birdies and a single bogey on his way to an opening-round 66 and joined Zoske as the only players to shoot better than 71 on Monday.
Nevada freshman Parker Rodgers, MOC-Floyd Valley sophomore Carson Korver and Washington senior Roman Roth all shot 71 on Monday and are in a three-way tie for third place.
ADM fired a 304 and leads the team race by three strokes over Waverly-Shell Rock after one round.
Tuesday’s second round is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
