Your Prep Sports 

Four teams from the Your Prep Sports area opened the softball season as ranked teams.

Liberty High, Clear Creek Amana, Solon and Regina all appeared in the preseason softball rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Monday.

Liberty High (23-14) is eighth in the Class 5A rankings while Clear Creek Amana (19-17) is No. 13 in Class 4A.

Solon (24-14) opens the season No. 11 in Class 3A and two-time defending Class 2A champion Regina (30-8) is third in the initial 2A rankings.

Top-ranked teams to open the season are Ankeny Centennial in Class 5A, North Polk in Class 4A, Williamsburg in 3A, Van Meter in 2A and Martensdale-St. Marys in Class 1A.
