An unbeaten start to the season has propelled City High into the Iowa High School Athletic Association boys soccer rankings for the first time this season.

City High (8-0) makes its debut in the third IHSAA rankings of the season entering the Class 4A rankings at No. 9 in the most recent rankings that were released on Monday.

The Little Hawks join West High, Regina and West Branch as area teams in the most recent rankings that are determined by official rankings committees.

West High (9-1) remained fourth in the Class 4A rankings for the second consecutive week trailing top-ranked Johnston, West Des Moines Dowling and Waukee Northwest.

West Branch (10-0) took over the top spot in the Class 1A rankings this week jumping River Valley Conference rival Regina (9-2) which dropped from first to second.

The lone remaining unbeaten team in Class 1A, West Branch is one of only five undefeated teams in the state this spring.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Council Bluffs Lewis Central in Class 3A and Gilbert in Class 2A.
