Jack Kinzer
Liberty High graduate and current Wartburg junior Jack Kinzer was named American Rivers Conference men’s track performer of the week last Tuesday.
Kinzer won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:01 at the Phil Esten Challenge at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on April 20.
The time of 9:01 by Kinzer ranks third all-time at Wartburg and is the seventh fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.
Ashlyn Keeney
Liberty High graduate and current Iowa State sophomore Ashlyn Keeney had a strong showing over the weekend at the Drake Relays in Des Moines recording a pair of top-three finishes.
Keeney finished third in the 1,500 on Thursday in a time of 4:21.93 which was .12 seconds off her career-best time.
On Friday Keeney was a member of the Iowa State 4×1,600 relay team that finished runner-up to Notre Dame in a time of 19:06.26.
Keeney ran a 4:52.53 split in the 4×1,600 relay helping the Cyclones ran the second-fastest time in program history.
Skyler Stookey
Solon graduate and current Coe College senior Skyler Stookey had two hits and drove in four runs in an 8-7 win over Luther on Saturday.
On the season Stookey is hitting .371 and leads the KoHawks with eight home runs and 27 walks.
Stookey has 10 doubles and 19 extra-base hits, has driven in 31 runs, score 22 runs and has a on-base percentage of .500 while helping Coe College to a 27-9 record.
