Boys Basketball Roundup: Fifth-ranked Solon Downs Davis County in Substate Opener

Class 3A fifth-ranked Solon opened the postseason with a win rolling past Davis County 75-36 in a Substate 5 quarterfinal on Monday in Solon.
Solon improved to 21-1 on the season with the win and will host Keokuk (16-6) in the Substate 5 semifinals on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Keokuk advanced with a 60-42 quarterfinal win over Mount Pleasant on Monday.
Jake Benzing had a game-high 19 points to lead Solon while Isaiah Zoske added 13 points for the Spartans.
Caleb Bock and Vince Steinbrech each had nine points for Solon and Rylen Stiegelmeyer had seven points.
Carter Will had 18 points for Davis County which closed the season 4-18.
