On Saturday Clear Creek Amana pushed its season-long winning streak to eight straight scoring a season-high 87 points in a non-conference victory over Washington.

On Monday the Clippers made their debut in the Iowa High School Athletic Association rankings.

Clear Creek Amana (12-5) entered the Class 3A rankings for the first time this season on Monday, debuting at No. 9 in the rankings released on Monday.

The Clippers have won eight in a row, nine of 10 games in 2023 and are 12-3 following an 0-2 start that featured losses to 4A teams Liberty High and West High.

Solon (17-0) remained fourth in the 3A rankings and joins top-ranked Clear Lake (17-0) as the only remaining unbeaten teams in 3A.

ADM is second in 3A, Waverly-Shell Rock is third and Marion is sixth, giving the WAMAC Conference three teams in the top 9.

West High (15-1) extended its wining streak to 11 with a non-conference win over Burlington on Saturday and remained second behind top-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the Class 4A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Western Christian in Class 2A and North Linn in Class 1A, both of which are coming off wins over the previous top-ranked teams in their respective classes.
