Liberty High defeated Cedar Falls 39-35 in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Thursday in Cedar Falls.

The Lightning won seven matches, earning bonus points in six wins on its way to the dual victory.

Connor McGonegle, Benjamin Rosen, Landon Bell and Gavin Benton all posted pins for the Lightning.

McGonegle pinned Landon Wallace in 1:05 at 106 pounds and Rosen needed 3:02 to pin Keegan Schmit at 113.

Bell pinned Ben Backes in 5:50 at 157 pounds and Benton posted a 14-second pin of Ambrose Hansen at 175 pounds.

Finn O’Toole won a 3-1 decision over Levi Mayfield at 150 pounds while Mason Karam won by forfeit at 138 and Vincenzo Lima won by forfeit at 215 for the Lightning.
