Girls Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Races Past Dubuque Hempstead For First Win

Liberty High snapped a three-game losing skid to open the season with a 76-54 road win at Dubuque Hempstead on Tuesday.
The Lightning outscored the Mustangs 22-3 in the second quarter while building a 37-17 halftime lead on its way to improving to 1-3 on the season.
Dubuque Hempstead dropped to 1-3 on the season with its third consecutive loss.
Madeline Casey led Liberty High with 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals while Bella Tafolla had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Natalie Ramsey had 11 points and four rebounds and freshman Sydney Van Heukelom had nine points and seven rebounds.
Ava Casey had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists and Kennedy Goodheart had eight points and four rebounds.
Ava Tague had three points, four rebounds and two steals for the Lightning.
