Another player in a what should be a potent Liberty High lineup this season has announced her collegiate softball plans.
Senior catcher Mischa Reiners announced her commitment to Kirkwood Community College with a post on the social media platform X on Sunday.
“I am excited and grateful to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic softball career at Kirkwood,” Reiners wrote on X. “I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates and friends for supporting me.”
Already a four-year starter, Reiners has been a stalwart in the middle of the Liberty High lineup as well as behind the plate.
A career .387 hitter, Reiners has 58 career extra-base hits and 95 career RBI after leading the Lightning with 40 runs batted in last season.
Reiners was a first-team Class 5A all-state selection as a sophomore in 2022 when she batted .418 with a career-high 64 hits, 22 extra-base hits and five home runs.
Last season as a junior Reiners batted .314 with 11 extra base hits including nine doubles and a home run helping Liberty High to a 23-14 record and a spot in the Class 5A regional finals.
