The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts.
Cassidy Hartman
Former Liberty High all-stater and current Northern Iowa freshman Cassidy Hartman matched her career high with two kills in a four-set win over Murray State on Saturday in Murray, Kentucky.
Hartman also had an ace served and two digs in the win as Northern Iowa improved to 17-6 on the season and 11-0 in Missouri Valley Conference play with its 12th consecutive win.
The 5-11 Hartman has played in all 23 matches for the Panthers this season registering 12 kills, two ace serves and 101 digs.
Makayla Ribble
City High graduate and current Central College sophomore Makayla Ribble had a team-high 22 assists in a three-set sweep of Beloit on Saturday in Pella.
Ribble also had an ace serve and seven digs in the win over Beloit on Saturday as Central improved to 19-7 on the season.
Ribble has played in all 26 matches for the Dutch this season and ranks second on the team with 220 assists to go with 40 kills, 29 ace serves and 178 digs.
Chrisian Janis
West High graduate Christian Janis and current Sioux Falls freshman wide receiver had a touchdown catch in a 42-35 loss to Winona State on Saturday in Sioux Falls.
A 12-yard touchdown grab by Janis tied the game at 35 with 1:19 remaining as the freshman receiver finished with four receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.
On the season Janis has caught 13 passes for 181 yards and three touchdown ranking fourth on the team in receptions and receiving yards.
