City High senior Owyn Noble earned a spot at the state cross country meet on Wednesday with an 11^th place finish at the Class 4A state qualifying meet at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf.

Noble placed 11^th in a time of 16:40 to earn his spot at the Class 4A state meet schedule for October 27 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.

The 11^th place finish from Noble helped City High to a fifth-place team finish.

Second-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the team title with 36 while ninth-ranked Pleasant Valley was runner-up with 46 points and Dubuque Hempstead was third with 71 points.

No. 16 Cedar Rapids Prairie was fourth with 112 points and No. 17 City High was fifth with 120 points.

Max McDowell placed 21^st for City High in a time of 16:57 and George Karr was 24^th in 17:01.

Jarris Prottsman finished 31^st in a time of 17;24 and Adam Schaefer was 33^rd in 17:31 for City High.
