Solon won five events on his way to a runner-up team finish at the Spartan Girls Invitational on Thursday at Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf.

Three different Spartans won individual titles and Solon won a pair of relay events while finishing second to host Pleasant Valley with 145 team points at the eight-team meet.

North Scott was third with 91 points followed by Urbandale with 90.5, Bettendorf with 81.5, Western Dubuque with 74 and City High with 60.

Sophia Stahle, Gracie Federspiel and Kayla Young posted individual titles for Solon.

Stahle won the 200 in 25.59 and Federspiel won the 800 in a time of 2:20.32.

Young won the 3,000 in 10:55.54 and was third in the 1,500 in 5:09.73.

The Solon foursome of Mia Stahle, Calla Foster, Sophia Stahle and Aly Stahle won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:07.27 and the team of Aly Stahle, Emma Wolff, Piper Stahle and Grace Erwin won the 4×100 in a time of 50.13.

Mia Stahle runner-up in the 400 hurdles in 1:11.34 and was third in the 100 hurdles in 16.34 for Solon.

The Spartans were runner-up in the 4×800 relay and were third in the sprint medley and distance medley relays.

City High got a runner-up finish from Emily Arling in the long jump and a third-place finish from Eva Reynolds in the 200.

The Little Hawks were runner-up in both the 4×200 and shuttle hurdle relays.
