Ella Cook
City High graduate and current University of St. Thomas sophomore Ella Cook hit her first career home run on Saturday in a 5-2 loss to the University of St. Louis at the DePaul Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Illinois.
Cook went 2-for-2 with the home run and also tossed seven strong innings against the Billikens allowing five runs, two earned, on six hits while striking out four in a complete game.
St. Thomas went 1-4 with a win over Creighton at the season-opening tournament.
Tatum Koenig
Former West Branch standout Tatum Koenig and current Green Bay senior guard had a strong weekend while helping the Phenix extend their winning streak to seven with wins over Northern Kentucky and Wright State.
Koenig had four points, six rebounds, three steals and an assist in 25 minutes in a 54-51 win over Northern Kentucky on Friday and added eight points, two rebounds and an assist in a 75-55 win over Wright State on Sunday.
On the season Koenig is averaging 4.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game and is second on the team in steals and sixth in assist helping Green Bay to a 21-4 record including a 14-2 mark in the Horizon League.
Aubrey Joens
Former City High all-stater and current Oklahoma junior guard had 11 points and six rebounds in an 85-68 win over Kansas State on Sunday in Manhattan, Kansas.
Joens went 4-of-5 from the floor, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range in the win to help Oklahoma improve to 20-4 on the season and 10-3 in Big 12 play.
On the season Joens is averaging 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
