Class 3A No. 11 Dubuque Hempstead defeated West High 59-20 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division dual on Thursday in Iowa City.

West High got wins from Alexander Pierce, Braden Doyle, Kyler Scranton and Justin Avila in the loss.

Second-ranked Pierce posted an imprssive 13-6 decision over fifth-ranked Mitchell Pins at 106 pounds.

Seventh-ranked Scranton pinned Ian Ostrander in 3:55 at 152 pounds and third-ranked Justin Avila pinned Sam Welsh in 50 seconds at 160 pounds

Doyle won a 21-6 tech fall over Garren Christiansen at 132 pounds.
