Wrestling Roundup: Nash, Phan Lead Clear Creek Amana to Fourth-place Team Finish at Fort Madison Invitational

Cale Nash and Kaden Phan each secured runner-up finishes as Clear Creek Amana placed fourth as a team at the 23-team, two-day Fort Madison Invitational on Saturday in Fort Madison.
The runner-up finishes by Nash and Phan highlighted six top-five finishes for Clear Creek Amana as the Clippers rolled up 277 team points.
Class 3A No. 10 Dubuque Hempstead won the team title with 380.5 points while host Fort Madison was runner-up with 342.
Solon was 10th with 190.5 points.
Class 3A eighth-ranked Nash finished runner-up at 113 pounds falling to seventh-ranked Ashton Grace of Ottumwa 4-0 in the title match.
Nash improved to 12-3 on the season on Saturday.
Phan was runner-up at 182 pounds and was pinned by 2A top-ranked CJ Walrath of Burlington Notre Dame in the championship match.
Nolan Howell added a third-place finish at 132 pounds while Caden Baxter was fifth at 152, Benjamin Haughey was fifth at 170 pounds and Vinnie Keller was fifth at 285.
Ethan Williams finished sixth at 195 pounds, and Ryker Jones (160) and Jay Halverson (138) each placed seventh.
Solon had nine top-10 finishes led by junior Lawsin Sinnwell who placed fourth at 132 pounds.
Kyler Jensen was seventh at 182 pounds and Evan Burg was seventh at 113 pounds and Charlie Karam was eighth at 138 pounds and Joe Ebert was eighth at 285.
