Class 5A fifth-ranked West High used a strong second half to pull away from 3A No. 11 Dubuque Wahlert and remained unbeaten on the season with a 57-46 win over the Golden Eagles in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional contest on Tuesday in Iowa City.

West High improved to 5-0 on the season while Dubuque Wahlert had a three-game winning streak snapped with the loss and dropped to 5-2 on the season.

Melae’ Lacy led West High with 12 points and Meena Tate had 11 points and Grace Fincham 10 for the Trojans.

Carolyn Pierce added nine points and Keiko Ono-Fullard, Anna Prouty and Zola Gross each had five.

Claire Lueken and Emma Donovan each had 13 points to lead Dubuque Wahlert.
