Liberty High Seniors Hartman and Kimm Highlight Area IGCA All-State Selections

Earlier this month Cassidy Hartman and Shelby Kimm capped their careers with a Class 5A state title.
On Tuesday the Liberty High senior duo continued to add to their memorable final prep season.
Kimm and Hartman were each selected to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Class 5A all-state team when the organization released its postseason all-state awards.
Hartman was also named to the nine-member Elite all-state team that recognizes the best players from across all five classes.
Together Hartman and Kimm helped lead Liberty High to a 33-8 record and the first state title in program history.
It was the fourth consecutive season Hartman has earned all-state honors from the IGCA.
An honorable mention selection as a freshman in 2019, Hartman has been named to the Elite all-state team each of the past three seasons.
Hartman had her best season as a senior ranking second in Class 5A with 538 kills on .348 hitting while ranking fourth in 5A with 429 digs.
The 6-foot-1 Hartman added 41 blocks and 23 ace serves in her impressive senior season.
Kimm was also at her best in her final prep season ranking seventh in 5A with 344 kills while hitting .295.
The 6-foot Kimm ranked third in 5A with 448 kills and had a team-high 42 ace serves and 28 blocks this season.
Sophomore setter Asta Hildebrand was an honorable mention all-state pick in Class 5A after ranking fourth in 5A with 863 assists.
Hildebrand added 95 kills and 28 serves while helping the Lightning to the 5A state title.
Clear Creek Amana joined Liberty High in reached the state title game earlier this month defeating a pair of top-three ranked teams on its way to its first ever championship match appearance.
The Clippers were rewarded for their stellar season with a pair of players landing on the Class 4A all-state teams.
Junior Bliss Beck was a first-team selection in Class 4A while junior libero Meg Berkland was named to the 4A second team.
The 6-foot-2 Beck ranked fourth in Class 4A with 399 kills while hitting an impressive .411 and led 4A with 153 total blocks.
Berkland ranked second in Class 4A with 540 digs and had 105 digs in three state tournament matches.
Regina and West Branch each had players earn honorable mention honors in Class 2A.
West Branch senior Iva Senio and Regina freshman Reese Naeve were each named 2A honorable mention selections.
Naeve ranked eighth in Class 2A with 442 kills while hitting .350 in her prep debut season and added 291 digs, 14 blocks and 16 ace serves.
Senio had a career-high 279 kills to lead West Branch this season and added 283 digs, 22 blocks and 18 ace serves.
