Solon pushed its winning streak to four on Friday night with a 45-25 win at Fairfield and in the process moved a step closer to locking up the Class 3A, District 5 title.

Class 3A seventh-ranked Solon rolled up 315 rushing yards and improved to 5-2 on the season with its fourth consecutive win on Friday.

The Spartans improved to 3-0 in District 5 play while Fairfield dropped to 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in district games.

Brett White rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns and senior quarterback Blake Timmons ran for 118 yards and three scores to pace the Spartan attack.

Timmons also threw for 83 yards as Solon racked up 404 total yards in the win.

Fairfield jumped to a 7-0 lead when Max Weaton hauled in the first of his three touchdown catches to give the Trojans an early lead.

Solon scored 31 unanswered points to close the first half taking a 31-7 lead into the locker room.

White scored on runs of 5 and 61 runs, Timmons had a 4-yard touchdown scamper and Mac McCarty added a 9-yard touchdown run.

Timmons added second-half touchdown runs of 11 and 59 yards.

Cole Buffington led Solon with two catches for 47 yards and Oaken Foster made five grabs for 37 yards.

Fairfield senior quarterback Tate Allen passed for 265 yards and tossed scoring strikes of 17, 10 and 21 yards to Weaton who had eight receptions for 159 yards.

Allen also rushed for 70 yards for the Trojans.

Brayden Moore led the Solon defensive effort with four tackles while Barret Schade, Ben Kampman and David Karam each had three solo stops for the Spartans.

Keenan Kruse picked off a pass for Solon.
