Baseball Roundup: Lehman’s Game-winning Double Lifts Regina to Third Straight Win

Regina got another strong effort from a starting pitcher on Thursday as Jack Tierney worked 6 1/3 innings of one-run baseball.
Senior Cameron Lehman closed things out.
Lehman recorded the final two outs of the top of the seventh and then hammered a game-winning RBI double to center field in the bottom of the inning as Regina defeated Anamosa 3-2 Thursday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional contest in Iowa City.
The win was the third straight for Regina and improved the Regals to 4-3 on the season and 4-0 in RVC play while Anamosa dropped to 4-2 on the year and 3-1 in conference play.
Freshman Connor Nicpon drew a walk and scored the game-winning run on the double by Lehman after Anamosa tied the game 2-2 in the top of the seventh.
Henry Bottorff had a hit and drove in a run for Regina while Tierney had a hit and scored a run.
Christian Mills doubled, Ethan VonHarz scored a run and Danny Gavin had a hit for Regina.
Tierney allowed just one unearned run on four hits while striking out six and walking three before giving way to Lehman who earned the win in relief.
