City High Opens the Season No. 3 in Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Rankings

City High just missed a second consecutive trip to the state baseball tournament last summer falling to Ottumwa in a substate final.
This season the Little Hawks will open as one of the favorites in Class 4A.
City High was third in the first Class 4A rankings of the season released on Monday by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Johnston opens as the top-ranked team in Class 4A followed by West Des Moines Dowling and City High.
The Little Hawks were 29-14 last season.
Solon, who also fell in a substate final last season, is the only other Your Prep Sports area team to appear in the initial rankings coming in at No. 8 in Class 3A.
The Spartans were 29-12 last season.
Other top-ranked teams to open the season are Marion (3A), Van Meter (2A) and Kee (1A).
