For the first time in program history Liberty High is ranked in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union soccer rankings.

Off to a 2-0 start this season Liberty High made its debut appearance at No. 15 in the Class 2A rankings released by the IGHSAU on Thursday.

The Lightning join Clear Creek Amana which held at spot at No. 13 in the 2A rankings are among five Your Prep Sports area teams in the second rankings of the season.

West High moved up a spot to No. 13 in the Class 3A rankings while Regina is No. 13 and Solon in No. 14 in the 1A rankings.

Top-ranked teams this week remained the same with West Des Moines Valley (3A), Norwalk (2A) and Davenport Assumption (1A) holding the top spots.
