Regina’s Gaarde, West Branch’s Luneckas Unanimous RVC Elite Team Selections

Early this month Regina claimed its first outright River Valley Conference South Division title since 2018.
On Wednesday the Regals began reaping the rewards of its conference crown.
Regina had five players earn all-conference honors highlighted by a pair of Elite team selections when the River Valley Conference announced its postseason awards.
Junior guard Grace Gaarde was a unanimous Elite Team pick and joined senior forward Lily Simpson on the 10-member Elite team that recognizes the top players from both the North and South Divisions.
Freshman Morgan Miller and sophomore Alli Clark were both named to the South Division team while senior Alli Dillon was an honorable mention selection for the Regals.
Gaarde was a unanimous Elite Team selection after leading the Regals in scoring at 11.1 points per game and leading all RVC players with 5.6 assists per game.
The junior guard also averaged 3.3 steals and 3 rebounds per game.
Simpson earned Elite Team honors after averaging 10.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
Miller earned all-conference honors in her first season of prep competition after averaging 10.6 points, 4 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game while Clark was also named to the South Division squad after averaging 9 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest.
Regina coach Mary Rogers was named South Division coach of the year after directing the Regals to the South Division title with a 17-2 conference mark.
West Branch senior center Delaynie Luneckas was a unanimous Elite team selection to highlight three Bears to earn all-RVC recognition.
Luneckas ranked fourth in the RVC South in scoring at 14 points per game and led all RVC players with 12.1 rebounds and 4.3 blocked shots per game.
Freshman August Palmer was named to the South Division squad after a stellar debut season in which she led the Bears in scoring at 15 points per game and adding 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
Sophomore guard Kylie Pickett earned honorable mention honors for West Branch.
