Liberty High climbed a spot and Clear Creek Amana entered the girls basketball rankings when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its most recent sent of rankings on Thursday.

Clear Creek Amana (11-5) has won five straight games after a road win at 3A No. 13 Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday and enters the Class 4A rankings at No. 15.

Liberty High (8-5) climbed one spot to No. 14 in the Class 5A rankings and joins City High and West High as ranked area teams in 5A.

West High (11-2) moves up two spots to fifth in the 5A rankings while City High (11-2) dropped seventh spots to ninth.

Regina (14-3) is riding a five-game winning streak and moved up one spot to seventh in Class 2A.

Top-ranked teams this week are Johnston (5A), Sioux City Heelan (4A), Unity Christian (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Newell-Fonda (1A).
