Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Kenya Earl
City High graduate Kenya Earl became the all-time career scoring leader at Lawrence University in a 66-48 win over Grinnell College on Saturday.
With 12 points in the win Earl pushed her career total 1,489 points to break the previous record of 1,487 set in 2006.
A senior forward, Earl is averaging a double-double this season for Lawrence putting up 14.9 points and 1.04 rebounds per game.
Tatum Koenig
West Branch graduate and current Bradley senior guard Tatum Koenig matched her career high with 23 points and added six rebounds in a 68-61 loss to Valparaiso on Saturday.
Koenig has started all 14 games this season for the Braves ranking third on the team in scoring at 9.4 points per game to go with 3.1 rebounds and a team-high 3.1 assists per game.
Rachael Saunders
West High graduate and current Creighton senior guard Rachael Saunders had seven points, four assists and three rebounds in an 86-80 win over St. John’s on Sunday.
Saunders is averaging 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season while helping the Bluejays to a 12-4 record including a 7-1 mark in Big East play.
