The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Evan Flitz
Former West High all-stater Evan Flitz, now a senior quarterback at Pomona-Pitzer earned second-team all-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors after leading the SCIAC in passing yards, completions and touchdown passes.
Flitz completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,306 yards and 21 touchdowns this season while leading the Sagehens to a 4-5 record. Flitz also rushed for 278 yards and six touchdowns.
Cam Miller
Solon graduate and current North Dakota State sophomore quarterback Cam Miller rushed for a pair of touchdowns and passed for 88 yards to lead the Bison to a 38-7 win over Southern Illinois in the second round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday.
Miller completed 9-of-14 passes for 88 yards and rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Megan Wick, Lauren Riggle
Regina graduate Megan Wick and Clear Creek Amana graduate Lauren Riggle were both members of the Loras soccer team that advanced to the NCAA Division 3 semifinals for the first time in program history.
Wick a senior goal keeper, and Riggle a freshman forward helped the Duhawks to a 21-1-2 record this season, an American Rivers Conference championship and a trip to the D3 Final Four where Loras fell to Christopher Newport University 1-0 in overtime on Friday in Greensboro, North Carolina.
