City High had its postseason run end with a loss to defending Class 5A state champion Ankeny on Tuesday in the Region 4 title game in Ankeny.

Third-ranked Ankeny swept the Little Hawks 25-12, 25-19, 25-9 to advance to the Class 5A state tournament for the fourth consecutive season.

No. 13 City High closed the season 20-15.

Claire Ernst led City High with seven kills while freshman Emmy McComas had six kills and nine digs for the Little Hawks.

Senior setter Makayla Ribble had 21 assists and two ace serves for City High.
