Liberty High Senior Keeney Named MVC Divisional Cross Country Athlete of the Year

Ashlyn Keeney has racked up some serious hardware from the Mississippi Valley Conference during her impressive prep cross country career.
On Monday the Liberty High senior standout officially added another conference award.
Keeney was named the MVC Mississippi Division athlete of the year on Monday when the conference announced its postseason honors.
A three-time MVC super meet and divisional meet champion, Keeney was also a member of the Mississippi Division first team that was determined by performance at the conference divisional meets two weeks ago.
Keeney was joined on the Mississippi Division first team by sophomore teammate Cori Mac and highlighted 10 Your Prep Sports area athletes to earn postseason honors.
City High junior Iris Wedemeyer earned first-team honors in the Mississippi Division while teammates Rowan Boulter and Ani Wedemeyer both earned second-team honors.
West High had five athletes make the Valley Division teams.
Sophomore Cindy Wang earned first-team honors and sophomore Gaby Moniza and junior Annie Schwartz were both on the Valley Division second team.
Senior Sara Alaya and sophomore Erinn Varga each earned honorable mentions status for West High.
