After an impressive week that saw Liberty High push its winning streak to 15 with six consecutive wins over ranked opponents the Lightning have retained their spot atop the Class 5A volleyball rankings.

Liberty High (23-3) was No. 1 in the 5A rankings for the third consecutive week on Thursday when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its most recent rankings.

West High and West Branch each held their spots in the most recent rankings while Clear Creek Amana dropped two spots.

West Branch (14-3) remained No. 12 in the Class 2A rankings while West High (11-11) stayed at No. 11 in the Class 5A rankings.

Clear Creek Amana (X) dropped two spots to No. 11 in the Class 4A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week remained the same with Western Dubuque (4A), West Delaware (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Burlington Notre Dame (1A) all holding onto their No. 1 rankings.
