Boys Cross Country Roundup: McKane, West High Win Titles at Home Invitational

Alex McKane won the individual title to help West High edge Marion for the team crown at its own West High Invitational on Tuesday at Kicker Soccer Complex in Iowa City.
McKane claimed the individual title in a time of 16:10 finishing 24 seconds in front of runner-up Shane Erb from Marion.
Class 4A No. 12 West High had three runners in the top five and four in the top 13 while edging 3A second-ranked Marion by one point for the team title with 30 points.
3A ninth-ranked Mount Vernon-Lisbon was third with 73 points followed by 4A No. 20 Bettendorf with 126 and 1A ninth-ranked Regina with 159.
Seth Cheney was fourth in a time of 17:49 while teammate Caden Noeller was fifth in a time of 17:53.
Michael Lee added a 13th place finish for West High in 18:26.
Regina was led by Aidan O’Neil who placed 10th in a time of 18:18.
