For the third consecutive week Solon is the top-ranked girls cross country team in Class 3A.

The Spartans remained atop the Class 3A rankings for the third week in a row on Tuesday when the Iowa Association of Track Coaches released its most recent set of rankings.

Solon won team titles at its own Solon Invitational and the Anamosa Invitational last week and leads Spencer, Ballard, Western Dubuque and Gilbert in the Class 3A top five.

Clear Creek Amana remained No. 16 in the 3A rankings this week.

West High climbed two spots to No. 12  in the Class 4A rankings while City High is No. 13 and Liberty High No. 18.

Regina held its spot at fifth in the Class 1A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Des Moines Roosevelt (4A), Mid-Prairie (2A) and South Winneshiek (1A).
