Class 4A No. 15 City High opened the season by capturing the top seven places on its way to the team title at the Hillcrest Academy Early Bird on Tuesday at Hillcrest Academy.

Freshman Ani Wedemeyer won the individual title in a time of 21:05.94 to pace City High as the Little Hawks posted a score of 15 en route to the team title.

Senior Rowan Boulter was runner-up in 21:11.12 followed by junior Iris Wedemeyer in 21:32.17 and freshman Nina Kuhlman in 21:45.85.

Senior Tatum Frazier was fifth in 21:58.99, freshman Nicole Peterson was sixth in 22:23.3 and sophomore Sophia Romero was seventh in 22:28.14 for the Little Hawks.
