Baseball Roundup: Seventh-ranked City High Drops Two at No. 10 Dubuque Hempstead

Dubuque Hempstead swept City High in a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader between top-10 teams on Monday in Dubuque.
Class 4A No. 10 Hempstead won the opener 5-1 and took the nightcap 8-6 on a walk-off two-run home run by Solen Munson.
Hempstead improved to 20-5 on the season and 18-5 in MVC play while seventh-ranked City High dropped to 21-9 on the year and 17-5 in conference games.
Jay Kennedy took the loss for the Little Hawks in the opener allowing five runs on five hits while striking out five and walking seven.
Gavin Koch had a hit and drove in a run and Gable Mitchell, John Klosterman and Jacob Means all added hits for City High.
City High had eight hits in game two led by Bouska and Koch with two hits each.
Koch drove in two runs while Means had a hit an RBI and scored three runs while Bouska drove in a run.
Ben Kueter and Alex Knudtson each had a hit and drove in a run and Klosterman scored two runs.
Carter Seaton had a hit and Gable Mitchell scored a run for the Little Hawks.
